Met in spring of 2021 to file our taxes. We were effected to Cathy from a friend. We provided what we had in documents to Cathy. We were told to get our deductions together. I emailed her in May. I didn’t here back. I emailed hear in August, didn’t hear back. I receive an email 2 days before the pentathlon date in October 2021. She goes back and forth in email. And then POOF! Cathy ghosts us. No tax return filed. When you call her she doesn’t answer the phone or return the call. You email her no response. I went onto Facebook and sent her a message and it shows that she has read it- but no response. Terrible customer service. You can tell she just doesn’t care about her clients. I am now paying my taxes late and with penalties.

They told my wife it would cost 1000 dollars to prepare a tax return for her dad’s estate and wound up billing her for 7000.

Don’t use this company. She doesn’t know how to communicate. She is not trustworthy. Worst experience of my life. She held my Business Documents for 6months. As I’m writing this she still has my documents. I will be moving forward with legal actions. Don’t use this lady to do your taxes.

Taxes was not done the correct way she got so much money out of me for doing them she is unprofessional and begs for money to get rooms I have filed legal documents on this lady PLEASE DONT GO TO TRUSTMAXX

Extremely unprofessional. Katherine does not return emails for weeks, sometimes months if even at all. Will tell you she is going to get something completed or get back to you and then you do not hear from her anymore. I have worked with several CPAs over the years and always could contact them throughout the year if there was a question and they would get back within a reasonable amount of time but this does not happen with Katherine; you get no help at all or you have to ask and ask for weeks if not months. When she does finally get back in touch there is never any explanation for the delay and she continues to ignore questions time and time again. It's like running in circles. It's unfortunate because she is very nice and has always done well on tax returns but as a business owner, it is very important for your accountant to be available when you have questions or need something completed and Katherine has proven to be completely unreliable in that area. Do yourself a favor and find an accountant that will be available for you and save yourself the headache and hassle.

Beware of Tax fraud!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would. Met with Leisa in May 2021 for taxes. She did not submit our taxes. We called in July and asked her why she didn’t submit them. She said she did, which was a lie (confirmed with state and IRS). We get a bill in the mail from the state saying we owe over $300. But according to the tax paperwork that we did with her in May, we were told that the state owed us money. So we call and she says the Oklahoma tax commission is lying. She says she will contact them to resolve the issue, which she never does. We keep getting letters in the mail that we need to pay the Oklahoma tax commission. She says she can’t get ahold of anyone at the tax commission. However, we call them ourselves and get a call back within an hour. They tell us that she filed the taxes showing that we owe the state. However, the paperwork we signed showed that the state owed us. She again says they are lying. She changed our taxes AFTER we signed the final paperwork. This is tax fraud!! It is now November and she still refuses to resolve the issue. We received a certified letter from the Oklahoma Tax Commission last week and finally broke down and paid the $300. She is a liar and a fraud. Please save yourself the money, time, and frustration. We will be reporting her!

Every year Ankur Kadakia files my tax returns on last day (Oct 15 for personal and Sept 15 for business) even when all required date to prepare returns are provided much in advance. For the year 2020 ( deadline Oct 15, 2021) Ankur tells me on Oct 15th evening that he will not file by the midnight deadline and any penalty resulting from his negligence will be borne by me. He promised to file in 2 days and thereafter has been dragging it. Today is Nov 8th and he has not even gotten back to me. He has all my paperwork with hiim. He rarely responds to phone calls and is very casual in providing a written response. He is extremely irresponsible person. Beware. Bhavesh Patel 4432266918

Worse business I have ever dealt with. I filed my taxes in May, here we are in November still no taxes. Irs says my check have been received by my tax preparer.

How can you be a tax preparer when you have federal tax liens against you and civil judgements!! I would never want anyone like you to do my taxes.

I don’t usually like to leave a negative review, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. Cherina was my CPA from 2012-2018. I hired her to do my taxes for my small home-based business, because tax preparation is not my forte, and I want a professional who knows the rules/laws, etc. when it comes to tax deductions and preparation. I was never informed that you could not claim a landline if just one was present, nor could I claim my cell phone bills, because the auditors say that you would have one regardless of the business. Also, I provide all income and expenses, counting on the CPA to know what is deductible, and what isn’t. I cancelled Cherina services in 2018 when her rate suddenly doubled. I could no longer afford her. But a few months ago, I was informed that I was to be audited for 2018. There were several red flags, including almost double allowable deductions for home improvements made for my home business. I emailed Cherina, and forwarded the specific categories they would be looking at, and questions that the auditor needed answered. She sent the entire file (which I didn’t need), charged of course for the copies, and mailing which I understand, but she also charged a substantial consulting fee. There was zero consulting, and I told her this when I received the invoice. She initially sent an invoice, which I never received. She sent another invoice adding on a $35 late fee. I paid the bill minus the late fee, due to not having received the original bill. She apologized that I didn’t receive the initial bill, and said nothing in response to my declining to pay the late fee. I just received another bill for the $35 late fee balance. This I feel is extremely unfair, and cold on her part. I also don’t care for her new tagline, “be well” which she thinks she sounds like she cares, but in fact she does not. Hire her if you want to eventually be audited, with minimal support, and no apologies for her errors.

We hired Isaiah to complete our 2020 taxes. We were very excited after our initial conversation with him and quickly sent all the requested documents and fees. Over the next three months we received very spotty communication at best. We were assigned to one of his employees without our knowledge (he didn’t disclose this fact in our consultation or in his retainer letter) and then a week before the May due date he told us had fired her due to performance issues, and he would be filing our return for us. We were dissatisfied with Gresham Financial communication throughout the process, so we took our return to a different CPA for a second look. The other CPA found that Gresham Financial didn’t file some of our RSUs, didn’t file a rental property properly, and didn’t include a rental depreciation schedule. We initially contacted him June 24th 2021 to ask for the correction to be made. He responded that he would look into it for us and let us know on June 30th 2021. I am now posting this October 29th 2021 and have not heard anything from him...

What a horrible experience! This woman is incompetent at best. Because of her shoddy work, I am now under audit. Stay away. There are so many good, honest people out there, but Vida is not one of them.

If I could give 0 stars, i would. I had a horrible experience with Louise Bartley and would never recommend anyone work with her. I have considered closing my business several times as a direct result of working with her. She charged far more that she originally quoted me, submitted tax payments late and passed late filing fees onto me, and filed tax information under the wrong EIN (that was not provided by me). I have been working with the IRS for over a year to sort out all of the error she made.

Beware this 'professional'. She has cost me so much in IRS fees and court fees, but I won the small claims battle! Unprofessional, surprise bills, unauthorized busy work on my $$, never could predict what the next bill would be... I could not file my income tax this year because she was holding my account hostage for work she was not authorized to do. I am finding out now how many holes and inaccurate information was provided and input into my quickbooks account. Super scary what she thought she could get away with. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Gary agreed to file an extension for my taxes, then file them. After dropping off all of my tax paperwork, he stopped answering calls and he even blocked my number. I had to file my own taxes, and incurred a $1,000 late fee because an extension was never filed. I don’t know what kind of a responsible adult ignores business phone calls, then blocks the number, leaving them completely in the dark—let alone someone who does work with the IRS. I don’t know if Gary is incompetent or just irresponsible. I’m filing a formal complaint with the IRS.

Ms. Martin’s profile outlines her tax experience, yet she took our job 2 weeks before its due date, not having reviewed the available data thus assuming, and not communicating, the risk of a late filing. That risk resulted in the IRS invoicing us a penalty fee ($202.40) for late filing. When our organization reached out to Ms. Martin in late June 2020, and she accepted to complete the 2019 990PF, we unfortunately assumed that she was aware of the filing deadline. Although Ms. Martin has indicated that she went above and beyond to have our 990PF completed, it was not submitted to us for mailing until July 16, 2020, nor there was any mention of the potential late filing risk on her part. We feel that Ms. Martin recognized our inexperience and was mostly interested in getting a drawing new business and not necessarily in being of service. Ms. Martin has refused to consider our request a rebate from $250 990PF file preparation fee.

This man screwed up multiple years, for my husband and I, and also my son. He failed to submit taxes for 2018 and 2019, and had us completing a tax form of multiple pages to assist in preparing our taxes! As recurring customers much of the info should have been in his system. We didn't get refunds because he wrote down my husband's birthdate incorrectly when e-filing our taxes. My son's taxes were so screwed up, and after paying him $1K, we had to have them done over by an actual professional who we have been using since the screwed up jobs by this clown. He isn't responsive, professional, and fails to address concerns promptly if at all, especially to women. When I first interacted with him, I recognized he was incompetent, and sent a text I stood by, but my husband wanted to give him a try. Now, we all know he is the worst tax preparer ever, making excuses as to why it takes 4 months to complete taxes, and sending me photos of him in the hospital, which is why he couldn't complete his business. I regret ever meeting this clown, and my first response text to him has always been accurate. We now have a preparer who completes our taxes electronically, is responsive, efficient, charges less, and gets us refunds this clown never did. The guy who referred us agreed that he does make mistakes, but who knew every year we'd have a problem created by this fool. Good riddance!

I have been using S&E Family Tax for several years and was satisfied until I REALLY needed Shelia’s assistance. In August 2021 I received a letter from IRS stating that I under reported my income for 2019 and I had to send them $6,500 by September 2021 (this included $1,000.00 plus in penalties). I was shocked by this because I’m very particular when it comes to getting my tax documents together. I called Shelia and informed her of the letter I received. She asked me to send her a copy and I did. I didn’t hear back from her so I called her again. Shelia told me to send her a copy of the 2019 tax documents that I had sent her (not sure why she didn’t have this info in her files). I forwarded her a copy of the original email with all tax documents including the 1099 that the IRS said was missing. Unfortunately for me Sheila overlooked/did not include that 1099 in her calculations. To date, October 2021 I have not heard from Shelia Jenkins/S&E Family Tax. I have called, texted and emailed her several times. I am very disappointed because I’ve been a loyal customer of hers for 10 plus years. I feel her behavior has been very UNPROFESSIONAL! I would not recommend her services to anyone.

I am very suspicious of these 5* reviews. I met with Brett Philips on March 8th, 2021 to discuss my roofing company taxes & real estate company taxes. Brett Philips & Emilia Patrinos are a polished Foxy Luxy that will tell you anything you want with a smile to lure you in their nest. Brett told me in person with my book keeper that we can not go back and look at 2019 taxes, but we can take your deductions and roll them over to 2020. After 7 months of sending our quickbooks, bank statements, credit card statements, etc. pretty much everything my book keeping professionally puts together, and spent over $30,000 in service fees with Shifflett & Philips to do my 2020 taxes. Brett & Emilia did not finalized my taxes properly. They did not maximize my returns, they did not input all my expenses, they did not input my company vehicles correctly, and they did not update company assets correctly. This cost me over $100,000.00 in taxes, fee's, and write offs. When I asked Brett & Emilia why they did not input these items. They both got defensive and did not want to go back and review what they missed or did wrong. Seems like they are used to working with people that don't understand taxes and they just blindly trust them with their decision making. I would strongly recommend you question everything they say and do, review all your tax returns carefully, and have a second opinion or another CPA look at their work. Brett & Emilia will tell you what ever you want to hear just to get your money. Unfortunately most people don't understand taxes as well as I do so they blindly trust what these two polished Foxy Luxy's say to them.
